# How do I use AI-generated video in Premiere Pro?

Generate the clips in OTOY Studio, download them as H.264 MP4, and import them into Premiere Pro like any other footage. Premiere reads MP4 natively, including 4K clips from models that output 4K. For voiceover and music, ElevenLabs gives MP3 and Stable Audio gives WAV. Premiere doesn't import 3D models or Gaussian splats, so render those to video in OTOY Studio first (for example a splat flythrough MP4). For a subject cut-out, use Beeble SwitchX's separate matte video with Premiere's Track Matte Key. Checked against OTOY Studio and Adobe's documentation, October 2026.

## Formats, by asset

| From OTOY Studio | Download as | Into Premiere Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Video clips | MP4 (H.264) | Native import |
| Upscaled or smoother clips | MP4 from Topaz Video (up to 4x, frame interpolation to 16 to 60 fps) | Native import |
| Subject cut-out | Beeble SwitchX video plus a separate alpha matte video | Track Matte Key effect, with the matte on the track above |
| Voiceover, music, sound effects | MP3 (ElevenLabs), WAV (Stable Audio) | Native import |
| Stills and layered art | PNG, JPEG, WebP, or a layered PSD | Native import. PSDs can come in as a sequence of layers |
| Splat or 3D scene | Flythrough MP4 from the Gaussian Splat node | Native import, as video |

## Steps: a batch of shots into an edit

1. In OTOY Studio, generate takes of each shot. You can run the same prompt through several video models at once and keep the best.
2. Select the keepers in the asset library and download them as one ZIP (up to 3 GB per download).
3. Unzip and import the folder into a Premiere bin.

## What to watch for

- Transparent video from OTOY Studio's video compositor exports as WebM (VP8). Premiere doesn't reliably read WebM alpha, even with a WebM plugin. Convert to ProRes 4444, or use the SwitchX matte instead.
- The video compositor can export an FCP7 XML timeline with its media. OTOY Studio labels this for DaVinci Resolve. Premiere also imports FCP7 XML, but test a short timeline first. Mattes, flips and effects don't carry over.
- No ProRes or image-sequence export from the app.
