# OTOY Studio v3.45.0 changelog

Published September 22, 2026.

This release brings the track-based compositor timeline to completion, with a new media pool, clip fades, and WebM support. The Director console gains image compression and library filing, and the H3 Max camera editor moves inline.

## Track-based compositor timeline

The video compositor timeline is now track-based, with multiple clips per lane and cross-track drag support. A new media pool replaces the layer list, showing thumbnails with usage counts and context menus. Sources enter the pool on connection without auto-placement, and clips are placed manually via drag or context menu. Track-level lock, mute, and visibility toggles now apply to every clip on the track.

Clip operations include split-at-playhead (Ctrl/Cmd+B), ripple delete, and non-overlap enforcement. Drag operations use an insert-default model with overwrite via Cmd/Ctrl+drag, and clips snap to edges, playhead, and timeline bounds. The timeline exports FCP7 XML with clips grouped by track.

## Per-clip opacity fades

Add per-layer fade-in and fade-out durations to video compositor clips. Set fade times beside the opacity slider, clamped to the clip length. Fades render in preview, still frames, and exports as linear opacity ramps. For cross-dissolves, only the top clip fades over the opaque bottom clip using standard source-over blending.

## WebM demux and conversion

WebM (VP8/VP9) sources now demux natively in the compositor through a new EBML demuxer, playing through the same WebCodecs path as MP4 without server transcode. Real-time WebM recordings from Lucy and H3 Director nodes automatically convert to H.264 MP4 via the transcode worker, making them compatible with downstream providers and the compositor.

## Director console improvements

Director console frames now compress to fit the 20 MiB provider limit before sending. A new compression endpoint handles oversized images, with per-user rate limits. All uploaded frames, tracks, and captured stills are automatically filed in the asset library under a Director folder for later retrieval. Saved direction sets gain their own database table, fixing concurrent edit issues.

## Inline H3 Max camera editor

The H3 Max camera trajectory editor moves from a modal into the parameter panel, rendering inline below Resolution. The 3D schematic, timeline, transport, and pose controls commit changes live with debounced undo checkpoints. The pose table folds under the editor, and the layout adapts to panel width from 280–600px.

## Quality of life

- Fragmented MP4 clips now demux correctly, deriving duration from video track samples
- Pending undo checkpoints survive panel navigation in camera, Luma, and compositor sections
- Media slot picks in the Director preserve frame dimensions when saved
