# OTOY Studio v3.46.0 changelog

Published September 24, 2026.

This release introduces ghost tracks for reviewing compositor generations before committing them, expands video format support for broader compatibility, and adds major enhancements to the Director for reviewing and reusing past sessions.

## Ghost tracks for compositor generation review

All compositor generations now produce temporary "ghost" clips at the playhead for review before they become permanent. A viewport overlay lets you Keep, Discard, or Regenerate each result. Batch generations get a full cycling UI with prev/next navigation, Keep All, and Discard Rest options. Ghost clips appear on the timeline with green highlighting and can be managed through clip context menus or the viewport overlay.

## Expanded video format support

The transcode pipeline now handles all non-MP4 video containers including WebM, Ogg, Matroska, and AVI, converting them to H.264 MP4 for compatibility with surfaces that can't decode them natively. Alpha-bearing VP8/VP9 WebM sources are preserved by skipping the H.264 conversion entirely. The system automatically determines the appropriate playback URL based on format compatibility and transcode status.

## Director session replay and analysis

Completed Director sessions now preserve their setup, directions, and media usage, enabling comprehensive review and reuse. A new sessions list shows past sessions with key metrics, and detailed session pages display the recording alongside a transcript of aired directions and all files used during the session. You can load any past session back into the console to run it again with the same setup and queued directions.

## Saved prompts in Director

The Director's prompt surfaces now include library controls for saving and loading text prompts, matching the functionality available in the canvas parameter panel. You can save frequently used prompts directly from the setup panel or composer, then load them into future sessions without retyping.

## Quality of life

- Dropping clips between timeline tracks now places them on the nearest adjacent track instead of always going to the bottom
- Director sessions automatically name themselves based on the opening scene and directions when no custom name is provided
- The Director console now completely clears the composer after sending a direction to prevent accidentally resending attached media
- Video stream-copy trims that land inside the final frame now render correctly in the compositor
- Transcoding now properly identifies H.264 streams for fast remuxing instead of unnecessary re-encoding
