# How to upscale a video with AI

**How do I upscale an AI video or old footage to a higher resolution?**

Run the finished clip through an AI upscaler. In OTOY Studio that is Topaz Video Upscale. It is usually the last node in a workflow: generate or edit at a lower resolution, pick the takes you want, and upscale only those.

## Models that do this

| Model | Maker | Pick it for | Takes | Credits per run |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [Topaz Video Upscale](https://otoy.studio/models/topaz-video-upscale) | Topaz Labs | The last step before delivery | Prompt plus video | 18 (from €0.18) |

Credits are OTOY Studio's currency: 1 credit = €0.01. Prices are list prices before plan discounts (paid plans take 10% to 25% off every run). Every model is on every plan, including Free.

## How to do it in OTOY Studio

1. Connect the clip, a generated video or an upload, to a Topaz Video Upscale node.
2. Run it. The upscaled version appears as a new output and the original stays on the canvas.
3. Download it, or send it to the compositor with the rest of the edit.

## Tips

- Upscaling only the selects is cheaper than generating every take at high resolution.
