**Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0: what changed and which should I use?**

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest video model and Seedance 2.0 is the one it replaces. In OTOY Studio both go up to 4K, generate sound with the picture and take image, video and audio references. The biggest difference is length: Seedance 2.5 generates up to 30 seconds in one run, twice the 15-second limit of Seedance 2.0. It also adds a video-edit mode that changes existing footage. At 480p the two cost the same per second, but at 720p and above Seedance 2.0 is cheaper, and at 1080p it costs less than half as much. For clips of 15 seconds or less at higher resolutions, Seedance 2.0 is still the better value.
