Updates

v3.52.0

Ideogram 4.5 is now available, offering enhanced text rendering for graphic design. The upgrade flow now supports all saved payment methods, including Link.

Ideogram 4.5

A new image generation and editing model is now available. Ideogram 4.5 excels at creating images with accurate text, making it well-suited for posters, logos, and other graphic design tasks. The model supports outputs up to 2K resolution and offers a “Precise Edit” mode for detailed image adjustments. You can use it for text-to-image generation or connect an existing image to enter edit mode, where you can also add up to four reference images.

v3.51.0

This release brings clearer asset deletion warnings, improved billing history, and enhanced iterator capabilities.

Asset deletion impact warnings

Deleting an asset now shows which projects will be affected before you confirm. The confirmation dialog lists live projects that use each asset, and when you open a project with deleted assets, affected nodes are briefly highlighted on the canvas. A new “Remove all” action in the deletion toast clears every reference to deleted assets from node inputs and removes Import nodes that relied on them.

Team usage in billing activity

Team-paid charges now appear in your Activity history with a “Team” label and team icon. Both Activity and Teams usage pages support pagination with “Load more” buttons to view older entries beyond the initial 50 items.

Iterator enhancements

All iterators now share a 50-item limit instead of separate caps. Image Iterator gains a “Download all” button that creates a zip archive of all outputs, using server streaming for library assets and browser-side zipping for external media. Batch outputs now complete properly even when the last job in a batch fails.

Quality of life

  • Fixed API key creation conflict when making multiple keys
  • Box selection no longer starts from dialogs overlaid on the asset grid
  • Accounts with never-synced billing are automatically provisioned on first balance read

v3.50.0

This release introduces a new tabbed navigation experience, making it easier to switch between your projects and tools. Each project tab now remembers its state, and the asset library and jobs page have been integrated as persistent tabs.

Home tab

Clicking the + button in the tab strip now opens a Home tab, which displays your projects grid. When you select a project from this grid, it replaces the Home tab in place, keeping your tab strip clean and focused on active work. The Home tab is a single instance and will be refocused if you click + while it’s already open.

Tab appearance

Project and tool tabs now display as distinct cards with a status indicator. The active tab shows a live save status (saving, saved, or failed) and a thumbnail of your latest work. Background project tabs display their last saved timestamp. This new design makes it easier to see the state of your work at a glance across all open tabs.

Persistent project state

When you switch between project tabs, the app now restores the exact state you left behind. This includes which sidebar panel was open (Assets, Queue, or Version History) and which nodes were selected, along with their parameters. Your work context is preserved, making it feel like each project is continuously live.

Integrated tool tabs

The Jobs page and Asset Library now open as persistent tool tabs. This means filters, searches, and your place within these pages are remembered when you switch away and return. The rail navigation remains visible at all times, providing consistent access to launch new projects and tools.

Quality of life

  • The asset library’s search and filters are now preserved in the URL, allowing you to bookmark filtered views.
  • Tool tabs for the Compositor and Director remember your place, so the rail icon returns you to your work in progress.

v3.49.0

This release improves how you navigate from an asset back to its source project and refines how Director console frames are handled in your library.

The asset details panel now provides a clearer way to open the project where an asset was generated. The project name in the details is now a direct link (indicated by a ↗ icon) that opens the source canvas and locates the asset’s node. When an asset is used in multiple projects, a dropdown (▾) next to the project name lists all projects that reference it, clearly marking the source project and any deleted projects. The generic “Open” split-button has been removed from the action bar to streamline the interface.

If the source project has been deleted, the project name will appear struck through and will not be a link. You can still access the asset from other projects using the dropdown list.

Quality of life

  • Director console frames are now hidden from your main library view instead of being deleted, ensuring they remain accessible in existing canvas projects and session pages.

v3.48.0

This release adds a dedicated frame capture tool to the video compositor and introduces a completely redesigned node selection panel for the canvas. The Director console also sees significant layout and interaction refinements.

Save frame from video compositor

You can now save a single frame from the video compositor to your asset library. A new Save frame button composites the frame under the playhead at the full output resolution, including all mattes, edit sublayers, and the base plate. The resulting PNG is saved directly to your library with alpha preserved for transparent plates. Saved frames appear in the Generations tab alongside your renders, clearly marked with the compositor’s origin.

Redesigned add-node panel

The canvas features a new two-pane add-node panel that replaces the previous cascading dropdown. The left pane displays category lanes (Essentials, Video, Image, Audio, 3D, Utility), while the right pane shows the groups and nodes within the selected category. Your Favorites and Recent nodes are now prominently displayed at the top of the default Essentials pane for quick access. Search flattens all categories into a single list with breadcrumbs for easy navigation. The panel also adapts its layout when connecting nodes, showing a compact list filtered by data type compatibility.

Quality of life

  • On the canvas: Node input/output handles now compress their spacing to fit within the node’s height, preventing handles from rendering below the node body on nodes with many connections.
  • In the Director: Scrubbing a video clip now updates the preview image in real-time.
  • In the Director: The session list now fills the available column height instead of being capped.
  • In the Director: Start session controls have moved into the parameter panel alongside cost calculations.
  • In the Director: A new “Load multiple frames” zone allows adding several images to the tray before a session starts.
  • In the compositor: Compositor outputs now use a film icon instead of the OTOY brand mark in the library.

v3.47.0

The standalone compositor page is now available, offering a dedicated workspace for video compositions. Director sessions now show which frame is currently live and which is next, and opening frames from a session are preserved for reuse.

Standalone Compositor

A new standalone compositor page provides a focused environment for building video compositions. Navigate to /compositor to start a new composition or /compositor/[id] to open a saved one. Sources can be added via direct upload or from your library, and rendered outputs are saved to your generations with a link back to the composition. The editor includes an editable title, duplication options, and composition cards that can be opened with a double-click.

Director Session Clarity

Director sessions now clearly indicate the current and upcoming content. The row that is live is highlighted in red, while the row scheduled to be next is marked in green. Rows that have already aired are visually subdued, making it easier to focus on what’s happening now and what’s coming up. Consecutive cut frames are grouped into a single row to keep the active and upcoming rows in view.

Opening Frame Preservation

The opening frames used to start a Director session are now displayed on the session record card. These frames, labeled by their slot (Start frame, First end frame), can be cued back into the session or attached to a new direction while a session is active. Starting a new session now clears the previous setup, session name, and queue for a fresh start.

Quality of life

  • The Director console panel has moved to the right side of the interface.
  • The starting checklist now appears over the viewport when a session begins.

v3.46.0

This release introduces ghost tracks for reviewing compositor generations before committing them, expands video format support for broader compatibility, and adds major enhancements to the Director for reviewing and reusing past sessions.

Ghost tracks for compositor generation review

All compositor generations now produce temporary “ghost” clips at the playhead for review before they become permanent. A viewport overlay lets you Keep, Discard, or Regenerate each result. Batch generations get a full cycling UI with prev/next navigation, Keep All, and Discard Rest options. Ghost clips appear on the timeline with green highlighting and can be managed through clip context menus or the viewport overlay.

Expanded video format support

The transcode pipeline now handles all non-MP4 video containers including WebM, Ogg, Matroska, and AVI, converting them to H.264 MP4 for compatibility with surfaces that can’t decode them natively. Alpha-bearing VP8/VP9 WebM sources are preserved by skipping the H.264 conversion entirely. The system automatically determines the appropriate playback URL based on format compatibility and transcode status.

Director session replay and analysis

Completed Director sessions now preserve their setup, directions, and media usage, enabling comprehensive review and reuse. A new sessions list shows past sessions with key metrics, and detailed session pages display the recording alongside a transcript of aired directions and all files used during the session. You can load any past session back into the console to run it again with the same setup and queued directions.

Saved prompts in Director

The Director’s prompt surfaces now include library controls for saving and loading text prompts, matching the functionality available in the canvas parameter panel. You can save frequently used prompts directly from the setup panel or composer, then load them into future sessions without retyping.

Quality of life

  • Dropping clips between timeline tracks now places them on the nearest adjacent track instead of always going to the bottom
  • Director sessions automatically name themselves based on the opening scene and directions when no custom name is provided
  • The Director console now completely clears the composer after sending a direction to prevent accidentally resending attached media
  • Video stream-copy trims that land inside the final frame now render correctly in the compositor
  • Transcoding now properly identifies H.264 streams for fast remuxing instead of unnecessary re-encoding

v3.45.0

This release brings the track-based compositor timeline to completion, with a new media pool, clip fades, and WebM support. The Director console gains image compression and library filing, and the H3 Max camera editor moves inline.

Track-based compositor timeline

The video compositor timeline is now track-based, with multiple clips per lane and cross-track drag support. A new media pool replaces the layer list, showing thumbnails with usage counts and context menus. Sources enter the pool on connection without auto-placement, and clips are placed manually via drag or context menu. Track-level lock, mute, and visibility toggles now apply to every clip on the track.

Clip operations include split-at-playhead (Ctrl/Cmd+B), ripple delete, and non-overlap enforcement. Drag operations use an insert-default model with overwrite via Cmd/Ctrl+drag, and clips snap to edges, playhead, and timeline bounds. The timeline exports FCP7 XML with clips grouped by track.

Per-clip opacity fades

Add per-layer fade-in and fade-out durations to video compositor clips. Set fade times beside the opacity slider, clamped to the clip length. Fades render in preview, still frames, and exports as linear opacity ramps. For cross-dissolves, only the top clip fades over the opaque bottom clip using standard source-over blending.

WebM demux and conversion

WebM (VP8/VP9) sources now demux natively in the compositor through a new EBML demuxer, playing through the same WebCodecs path as MP4 without server transcode. Real-time WebM recordings from Lucy and H3 Director nodes automatically convert to H.264 MP4 via the transcode worker, making them compatible with downstream providers and the compositor.

Director console improvements

Director console frames now compress to fit the 20 MiB provider limit before sending. A new compression endpoint handles oversized images, with per-user rate limits. All uploaded frames, tracks, and captured stills are automatically filed in the asset library under a Director folder for later retrieval. Saved direction sets gain their own database table, fixing concurrent edit issues.

Inline H3 Max camera editor

The H3 Max camera trajectory editor moves from a modal into the parameter panel, rendering inline below Resolution. The 3D schematic, timeline, transport, and pose controls commit changes live with debounced undo checkpoints. The pose table folds under the editor, and the layout adapts to panel width from 280–600px.

Quality of life

  • Fragmented MP4 clips now demux correctly, deriving duration from video track samples
  • Pending undo checkpoints survive panel navigation in camera, Luma, and compositor sections
  • Media slot picks in the Director preserve frame dimensions when saved

v3.43.0

The Director console now shows what’s cued versus passed over in the timeline, and the playlist displays when each tile’s turn will come. Media inputs that exceed size limits are now automatically compressed at run time.

Cued and passed-over directions

The history rail now distinguishes between directions that can still air and those the runner has passed over. A direction that lost a cut now reads “passed over” in a muted tone instead of falsely claiming to be “pending” forever. The composer lists how many directions are still cued and what your send mode will do to them—Replace drops them, Append sends yours after them.

Playlist tile timing

Each tile in the playlist now shows when it will fire relative to the current cut—“+18s”, “+36s”—calculated from its position in the loop and the cadence. Tiles out of the loop show no time, and the display updates as the loop advances. The next tile to fire shows “+0s” while the one currently on air is marked separately.

Input auto-compression

Media inputs that exceed provider size limits are now automatically compressed when you run a job. Videos over 50 MB and images over 20 MB are transcoded to fit within the limits before being sent to the model. Your job history keeps the original input URLs—compression happens only in the payload to the provider. The compressed copies are reused for repeat runs and cleaned up after 7 days.

Quality of life

  • The Director console’s stop buttons are now labeled “End session” and “Stop capture” with explanatory tooltips
  • The history log now shows newest entries at the bottom and follows new entries when you’re scrolled to the end
  • Playlist tiles keep their captions visible even when you hover over them
  • Asset cards in pickers show dimensions and file size, with warnings for files too large to send in the Director
  • The playlist’s Remove button is always visible, not just on hover
  • Tiles show where they came from and when they last aired in the inspector
  • The composer and playlist have been redesigned to match the intended layout with clearer labeling

v3.42.0

This release brings camera-motion editing to H3 Max Multi Angle, adds auto-capture to the Director console, expands Sharp controls, and introduces PSD file support.

H3 Max Multi Angle camera editor

A full-screen camera trajectory editor is now available for the H3 Max Multi Angle node. Instead of entering numeric values in a table, you can visually position the camera on a sphere around your subject and preview the motion path. The editor shows both azimuth and elevation axes to avoid ambiguity, and the timeline serves as your selection control—scrubbing to a keyframe makes it editable. Presets like orbit, push-in, and crane moves are available, with custom trajectories saved as part of your workflow.

Director console auto-capture

The Director console can now capture frames automatically from a live camera or screen share at regular intervals. Select “Auto-capture from camera” or “Auto-capture from screen” to keep the device active throughout your session, with each cut using a fresh frame that tracks real movement. The live preview appears in the monitor’s HUD, and the cadence controls work the same as tile repeat mode.

Sharp node gains advanced controls

The on-device Sharp node now includes gaussian budget, opacity cutoff, and focal length controls. Reduce the gaussian budget to output smaller PLY files by keeping only the most important splats, adjust the opacity cutoff to remove near-transparent gaussians, or change the focal length to control scene depth reconstruction. Existing workflows will use the new default opacity cutoff (0.10), producing more optimized outputs.

PSD file support

PSD files are now accepted as first-class image inputs across the application. When you upload a layered PSD, it’s automatically flattened to PNG for previews and model consumption while preserving the original layered file as a downloadable companion. You can access the original PSD through the “Download Original PSD” option on image nodes and assets.

Quality of life

  • The update available toast now includes a link to the changelog
  • Profile email addresses are now copyable
  • Media chips in the parameter panel now show file sizes alongside dimensions and duration
  • Element @-tagging improvements: arrow-key selection in the mention menu and notifications when model swaps drop attached elements
  • Director console enhancements: playlist tiles show prompts, transport bar clarifies replace/append modes, and history rail uses two-row layout for better readability
  • H3 Max camera controls now properly handle motion prompts and can end moves before the clip completes
