v3.50.0
This release introduces a new tabbed navigation experience, making it easier to switch between your projects and tools. Each project tab now remembers its state, and the asset library and jobs page have been integrated as persistent tabs.
Home tab
Clicking the + button in the tab strip now opens a Home tab, which displays your projects grid. When you select a project from this grid, it replaces the Home tab in place, keeping your tab strip clean and focused on active work. The Home tab is a single instance and will be refocused if you click + while it’s already open.
Tab appearance
Project and tool tabs now display as distinct cards with a status indicator. The active tab shows a live save status (saving, saved, or failed) and a thumbnail of your latest work. Background project tabs display their last saved timestamp. This new design makes it easier to see the state of your work at a glance across all open tabs.
Persistent project state
When you switch between project tabs, the app now restores the exact state you left behind. This includes which sidebar panel was open (Assets, Queue, or Version History) and which nodes were selected, along with their parameters. Your work context is preserved, making it feel like each project is continuously live.
Integrated tool tabs
The Jobs page and Asset Library now open as persistent tool tabs. This means filters, searches, and your place within these pages are remembered when you switch away and return. The rail navigation remains visible at all times, providing consistent access to launch new projects and tools.
Quality of life
- The asset library’s search and filters are now preserved in the URL, allowing you to bookmark filtered views.
- Tool tabs for the Compositor and Director remember your place, so the rail icon returns you to your work in progress.
