How to turn an image into a video with AI
How do I animate an image or turn a photo into a video with AI?
Connect the image to an image-to-video model, describe the motion you want in the prompt, and run it. The image becomes the first frame, so the look, the subject and the composition stay the same. Good choices are Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.0, Wan 2.6 and, for low-cost drafts, Seedance 1.5 Pro and PixVerse 5.

How to do it in OTOY Studio
- Upload your image to the canvas, or generate one with an image model node.
- Add an image-to-video node and connect the image to it.
- In the prompt, describe what moves: the subject's action, the camera move and anything in the background. You don't need to describe what is already in the image.
- Set the duration and resolution, then run it. Connect the same image to a second model to compare.
Tips
- Use an image with the same aspect ratio as the video you want, so nothing gets cropped.
