What can I use now that Sora 2 is shut down?
OpenAI announced on March 24, 2026 that it was shutting down the Sora app and the Sora 2 API, and OTOY Studio retired its Sora 2 node on October 20, 2026. The closest replacements are the other video models that generate synchronized sound with the picture: Veo 3.1 for dialogue and the most ways to steer a shot, Seedance 2.5 for long clips (up to 30 seconds in one run) and Seedance 2.0 or Kling 3.0 for the lowest cost per clip. All four run in OTOY Studio on one credit balance, so you can send the same prompt to each and keep the best take.

Matching what you used Sora for
- Short clips with sound from a prompt: Veo 3.1 is the closest match in feel. Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 cost less per clip.
- Longer shots: Sora 2 ran up to 12 seconds in OTOY Studio. Seedance 2.5 runs up to 30 seconds in one run, and Seedance 2.0 and Kling 3.0 up to 15.
- Animating an image: all four take a starting image. Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 also take a last frame, so the clip ends where you want it.

If you had Sora 2 in an OTOY Studio workflow
Sora 2 nodes no longer run. Swap the node for Veo 3.1, Seedance or Kling and connect the same prompt and image inputs. The rest of the workflow, including upscaling and audio nodes downstream, stays as it is.
